Arkansas DFA Warns of Tax Review Office Scam Calls Targeting Residents During Filing Season

The Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration is warning residents about a scam phone call circulating statewide during tax filing season.

According to DFA officials, callers are falsely claiming to represent a “Tax Review Office” and telling recipients they have missed a tax filing or have a problem with an existing account. The purpose of the call is to pressure individuals into providing banking details or other sensitive financial information.

DFA says it has received multiple complaints about the scam and emphasizes that the agency does not initiate contact by phone to request personal or banking information.

Officials urge Arkansans to hang up on suspicious calls, avoid returning unknown numbers, and never share financial data with unsolicited callers demanding immediate action.
