An Ajinomoto chicken fried rice recall has been issued for approximately 3,370,530 pounds of frozen not ready-to-eat chicken fried rice products that may be contaminated with foreign material, specifically glass, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).

Ajinomoto Foods North America, Inc., based in Portland, Oregon, produced the affected products between September 8, 2025, and November 17, 2025.
Products Included in the Recall:
20-oz. plastic bag packages of frozen “TRADER JOE’S Chicken Fried Rice with stir fried rice, vegetables, seasoned dark chicken meat and eggs”
Best By dates: 9/8/2026 through 11/17/2026
Shipped to Trader Joe’s retail locations nationwide
The recalled products bear establishment number P-18356 inside the USDA mark of inspection.
The issue was discovered after the company notified FSIS that it had received four consumer complaints reporting glass found in the product. At this time, there have been no confirmed reports of injury. Anyone concerned about a possible injury should contact a healthcare provider.
Consumers who purchased the affected products are urged not to consume them. Products should be discarded or returned to the place of purchase.
