The Izard County Sheriff’s Department is warning residents about an ongoing video call scam targeting individuals across the area.
Officials say several people have reported receiving video calls displaying an ID labeled “PCH” along with a Gmail email address. During the calls, the scammer claims the recipient has won a prize from Publishers Clearing House and then attempts to obtain personal or financial information.
Law enforcement stresses that these calls are fraudulent. Residents are urged not to answer video calls of this nature and to never provide personal details, banking information, or verification codes to unsolicited callers.
The Izard County Sheriff’s Department encourages anyone who receives one of these scam calls to hang up immediately and report the incident to local authorities to help prevent others from becoming victims.
