As dangerously cold temperatures move into the region, multiple warming centers and emergency shelters are opening across Central and North Central Arkansas to help protect residents from freezing conditions.

A warming center is a temporary emergency facility designed to provide a safe, warm, and dry environment for individuals during extreme cold weather. These facilities help prevent hypothermia, frostbite, and cold-related injuries and typically operate for limited hours or days during severe weather events.
