Unity Health is celebrating two registered nurses for excellence in stroke care, recognizing them as Stroke Champions for their rapid response and commitment to patient outcomes.

Grace Shannon, RN, earned her first Stroke Champion award, achieving a Door to Needle Time of 42 minutes, placing her in the program’s Silver Club. Fast Door to Needle Times are critical in stroke treatment, as earlier intervention can significantly improve recovery and survival rates.
Connor Collins, RN, also earned recognition by making the Silver Club once again, posting an impressive Door to Needle Time of 35 minutes for his patient.
Hospital leaders praised both nurses for their professionalism, skill, and dedication to providing high-quality emergency care to patients throughout White County and surrounding communities.
Officials say the recognition highlights the importance of rapid stroke response and teamwork in emergency medicine, noting that every minute saved can protect brain function and save lives.
