Todd Wells has officially announced his candidacy for White County Sheriff, citing nearly two decades of law enforcement experience and a commitment to leadership, accountability, and proactive policing.

Wells began his career with the Searcy Police Department in 2007 as a patrol officer, working daily calls and gaining hands-on experience in community policing. He was promoted to sergeant in 2013 and has served as a lieutenant since 2017, supervising officers, managing critical incidents, and overseeing operational decision-making.
“As sheriff, I will focus on clear leadership, accountability at every level, and supporting deputies with proper training and resources,” Wells said. “I believe in proactive policing, strong communication with the public, and running a sheriff’s office that works for the people — not politics.”
Wells says his campaign centers on strengthening trust between law enforcement and the community while ensuring deputies have the tools, training, and leadership needed to perform their duties effectively.
“White County deserves experienced leadership that shows up, does the job, and earns the public’s trust,” Wells said. “I would be honored to serve as your next White County Sheriff.”
