Quincy McKinney Announces Campaign for Circuit Judge Division 5, Highlights 17 Years of Legal Experience

Quincy McKinney has officially announced his candidacy for Circuit Judge, bringing more than 17 years of legal experience across criminal, civil, family, and probate law to the race.

McKinney’s legal career closely reflects the responsibilities of a Circuit Judge. Over the past 17 years, he has handled felony criminal cases, jury trials, family law matters involving child custody and support, civil litigation, and probate cases — many of which are decided at the circuit court level.

In addition to his courtroom experience, McKinney has demonstrated a strong commitment to public service and community leadership. He currently serves on the Arkansas Public Defender Commission, where he was appointed by former Governor Asa Hutchinson. He has also served in leadership roles with Milestones, an early intervention program supporting children with developmental delays, and as a founding board member of Stop DV, an organization that assists families navigating domestic violence and protection order cases.

Raised on a cattle farm in rural Faulkner County, McKinney says he learned the importance of hard work, responsibility, and integrity at an early age. Those values, combined with years of legal and community involvement, guide his approach to listening carefully, applying the law fairly, and making thoughtful, balanced decisions.

“Serving the community has always been at the heart of my work,” McKinney said. “I believe experience, fairness, and integrity matter on the bench, and I’m committed to bringing those values to the role of Circuit Judge.”
