A coordinated multi-agency enforcement operation in Van Buren County led to significant drug seizures and the recovery of stolen property valued at more than $30,000, according to county law enforcement officials.

Authorities say Van Buren County continues to face challenges related to theft and drug abuse, but ongoing collaboration with neighboring agencies remains a top priority in holding offenders accountable. Officials emphasized that successful investigations often require time, coordination, and discretion, and that many enforcement actions are intentionally not publicized to preserve operational effectiveness.

On Thursday, January 15, the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Criminal Investigation Division, working alongside Probation and Parole and the 20th Judicial Drug Task Force, conducted a calculated home visit on East Mountain Road.

During the operation, officers seized approximately 51 grams of methamphetamine, 88 grams of marijuana, digital scales and other drug-related items,

a firearm, and a stolen side-by-side vehicle reported missing by a Jacksonville resident. The recovered property is estimated to exceed $30,000 in value.

A local man and woman were arrested at the scene on previously entered warrants. Investigators say additional charges are being sought against the property owner, who reportedly fled as officers arrived.

Law enforcement officials reiterated that enforcement efforts remain ongoing throughout the county and continue to focus on disrupting illegal activity and protecting the community.
