Lyon College has announced the expansion of its study-abroad offerings through new international exchange partnerships with the Universidad Católica San Antonio de Murcia (UCAM) in Spain and The Hague University of Applied Sciences (THUAS) in the Netherlands.

The new agreements allow Lyon College students to study overseas while continuing to pay tuition to Lyon College. Students cover room and board costs at the host institution, and all academic credits earned abroad are guaranteed to transfer back, providing a seamless and affordable international experience.

“This expansion reflects Lyon College’s commitment to global learning and preparing students to succeed in an increasingly interconnected world,” said Nicolas Pattillo, director of Lyon College’s Office of International Education. “Both institutions offer strong academics paired with cultural immersion and real-world experience.”

UCAM is located in Murcia along Spain’s Mediterranean coast and serves more than 16,000 students. The university is recognized for international collaboration, research partnerships, and diverse undergraduate and graduate programs. Its historic campus features modern academic facilities, a vibrant international student community, and strong athletics programs.

THUAS is a public, practice-oriented university based in The Hague, known as the “City of Peace and Justice,” with additional campuses in Delft and Zoetermeer. The university enrolls students from approximately 150 nationalities and emphasizes hands-on learning through real-world projects and industry partnerships. Lyon College will have up to four exchange placements annually at THUAS, with academic options in business, finance, marketing, health, nutrition, sports, and management.

As a UNESCO Associated School, THUAS promotes global citizenship, peace, and sustainable development through English-taught bachelor’s and master’s degree programs.

College leaders say the expanded partnerships strengthen Lyon’s commitment to experiential learning and global engagement, giving students broader academic perspectives and valuable international exposure.
