Two juveniles have been charged in Izard County Circuit Court, Juvenile Division, with a combined 49 offenses connected to a series of vehicle thefts, burglaries, and other theft-related crimes reported in Horseshoe Bend since July 2025.

According to the Izard County Sheriff’s Office, the investigation remains active, and officials say additional charges against other individuals may be forthcoming as detectives continue reviewing evidence and leads.
Izard County Sheriff Melton praised his staff for their persistence in addressing the crimes, which have affected residents over several months.
“The recent vehicle thefts, vehicle burglaries, and other thefts in Horseshoe Bend over the past several months have been troubling,” Sheriff Melton said. “I am proud of my staff for their continued dedication and hard work to ensure those responsible are held accountable.”
Sheriff Melton also highlighted the efforts of Investigator Sean Tomlinson, noting that many of the cases required extensive investigative work despite limited or unclear evidence.
“Some cases involved very limited evidence, while others included video footage where the suspects’ identities were obscured,” Melton said. “Often, the public is unaware of the extensive work required to solve cases due to the limited information that can be released to protect the integrity of an ongoing investigation.”
Authorities are asking anyone with information related to the ongoing investigations to contact the Izard County Sheriff’s Office at 870-368-4203 and request to speak with a deputy. Officials emphasize that even small details could be critical in solving additional cases.
