A piece of Arkansas history was lost Monday January 5, 2026 as the more than 130-year-old Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Lonoke was destroyed by fire. The historic church, where generations of families worshipped and where local families helped build its original structure, stood as a spiritual anchor for the Bethlehem community for more than a century.

As the community mourns, residents are being asked to lift the congregation up in prayer and support efforts focused on rebuilding. The loss of the church is deeply personal for many families whose roots and memories are tied to the sanctuary.
Those wishing to help with rebuilding the Bethlehem United Methodist Church may contact the church.
Every contribution will help with rebuilding the historic church and restoring a place of worship, fellowship, and hope. Community members also ask for continued prayers as plans move forward for rebuilding.
Thank you to everyone for your prayers, generosity, and kindness during this difficult time.
