The Arkansas Business Trendsetter City Awards are presented annually in partnership with the Arkansas Municipal League and honor cities across the state for leadership, creativity, and measurable community impact.

City leaders accepted the award on stage during the Arkansas Municipal League’s Winter Conference, held January 14–16, 2026, in Little Rock.

“It was an honor to accept the Arkansas Business ‘Trendsetter City’ award on stage,” city officials said. “I would encourage naysayers to do something positive — because we are.”

Cities are evaluated across multiple categories based on population size, including Diversity and Inclusion, Education and Workforce Development, Infrastructure and Water, Public Works and Environmental Management, Technology and Security, and Tourism Development and Creative Culture.

Fairfield Bay’s recognition reflects ongoing investments in infrastructure improvements, destination marketing, community programming, and business development initiatives designed to enhance quality of life and strengthen the local economy.

Community leaders say the award further underscores Fairfield Bay’s growing momentum as a regional tourism destination and an emerging hub for economic opportunity in North Central Arkansas.

Members of the Fairfield Bay City Council attending the ceremony included Richard Matthews, Ruth Krotz, Sandra Crowder, Bella Comas, Mayor Seth Connell, Patricia Leitner, and Roger Hooper.
