The Cave City Assembly of God Food Pantry has been awarded a $10,000 community grant from the Sharp County Affiliate of the Arkansas Community Foundation in recognition of its ongoing service and leadership following last year’s tornado and its continued support of local families.
The grant is part of the Arkansas Community Foundation’s celebration of its 50th anniversary, marking five decades of statewide philanthropy and nonprofit support. As part of the anniversary initiative, local affiliates were invited to select a nonprofit in their county to receive a special $10,000 grant.
Leaders with the Sharp County Affiliate said the Cave City food pantry stood out because of its immediate response following the March tornado in Cave City and its consistent commitment to helping families recover and rebuild.
“We remembered what happened in Cave City last March and how one organization stepped up immediately and has continued helping people every day since,” foundation representatives said. “The Cave City Assembly of God Food Pantry has truly been a pillar of the community.”
The grant will help strengthen the pantry’s ability to serve families facing food insecurity and recovery needs across the region.
The announcement was also highlighted during a recent ArkansasRadio.com Community Spotlight interview with Jessica Ford, President and CEO of the Arkansas Community Foundation. Ford explained that the foundation awarded more than $1 million in grants to 47 nonprofits statewide across three tiers during the anniversary year, including legacy organizations, rising nonprofits, and local affiliate grants. Non profits that serve White County, Cleburne County, and North Central and Central Arkansas are well represented for the Community Foundation.
