Reports and images submitted to ArkansasRadio.com show slick and snow-covered roadways at several major intersections and travel corridors across North and Central Arkansas. Drivers are urged to use extreme caution or avoid travel altogether if possible.

Hazardous road conditions have been observed at the following locations:

• Hwy 31 and Interstate 57 Exit 31 in Beebe

• Interstate 57 Exit 16 in Cabot

• Highway 17 Exit 82 and Interstate 57 in Newport

• U.S. Highway 65 and Interstate 40 in Conway

• Highway 16 and Highway 65 in Clinton

• Main Street and Interstate 57 Exit 42 in Searcy

• Highway 5 between Mountain View and Drasco

Officials warn that refreezing will continue overnight as temperatures remain well below freezing, increasing the risk of black ice, reduced traction, and limited visibility, especially on bridges, overpasses, and shaded roadways.

Motorists who must travel are encouraged to slow down, allow extra stopping distance, avoid sudden braking, and carry emergency supplies. Residents should continue monitoring local weather updates and real-time road conditions before traveling.

Public safety officials also remind residents to dress in layers when outdoors, limit exposure to extreme cold, and use space heaters safely by keeping them at least three feet away from flammable materials and never leaving heating devices unattended.

Emergency management agencies continue monitoring conditions statewide as the prolonged cold weather pattern remains in place.
