Area high school students interested in careers in creative media are invited to enter the Great A-State Media Fest, a statewide competition hosted by the Arkansas State University School of Media and Journalism.

Submissions opened earlier this week and will be accepted through Friday, March 27. The event returns after a one-year hiatus and features multiple categories designed to reflect how students create and consume media today.
Instructor Johnathan Reaves said the competition includes categories in audio, video, graphic communication, online content production, social media, and photography, with several new categories developed in collaboration with faculty and alumni working in professional media fields.
The competition is open to students in grades seven through twelve, as well as students who graduated in 2025. Organizers say the event provides an opportunity for students to showcase their work, gain recognition, and explore future educational pathways in media and journalism.
Winners will be announced during an awards ceremony on Friday, April 24, which will be broadcast on ASU-TV’s YouTube and Facebook pages. More information and submission details are available at asutv.com/mediafest.
