Due to continued hazardous road conditions from this weekend’s winter storm, Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders has ordered all Arkansas state office buildings closed Tuesday, January 27, 2026, except for critical operations.

State officials say the closure is intended to protect public safety as lingering snow, ice, and dangerously cold temperatures continue to impact travel across much of the state.
The closure also includes all Arkansas State Police driver testing locations. Anyone who previously scheduled a driving skills test for Tuesday is encouraged to reschedule their appointment by visiting the official scheduling portal at https://telegov.egov.com/aspdlskills/
.
State employees who are able to telework are encouraged to do so. Agencies may also implement liberal leave policies for employees who cannot work remotely.
Officials continue urging residents to limit unnecessary travel and to monitor local weather and road conditions before heading out. Motorists are reminded that refreezing remains possible overnight and during early morning hours, especially on bridges and secondary roadways.
Additional updates regarding government operations will be released as conditions improve.
