Due to hazardous road conditions caused by an ongoing winter storm, Sarah Huckabee Sanders has ordered Arkansas state office buildings to remain closed except for critical operations on Friday, January 30, 2026.
State officials say the closure is intended to protect employees and the public as snow, ice, and freezing temperatures continue to impact travel across much of the state.
State employees who are able to telework are encouraged to do so. Agencies may also implement liberal leave policies for employees whose job duties do not allow for remote work.
Officials remind Arkansans to use caution if travel is necessary and to monitor local conditions as winter weather effects persist.
