Arkansas drivers are getting another welcome break at the gas pump as prices continue to fall across much of the ArkansasRadio.com listening area heading into the New Year.

Several communities are reporting prices well below the national average. In central Arkansas, North Little Rock and Searcy are both averaging about $2.12 per gallon, while Cabot is near $2.19. Prices remain low across north-central Arkansas with Heber Springs at $2.28, Mountain View at $2.39, and Batesville averaging $2.44 per gallon.
The national average currently stands at $2.81 per gallon, putting Arkansas among the most affordable states in the country for holiday and winter travel.
Energy analysts say lower crude oil prices combined with strong fuel supplies are helping keep prices down, providing welcome savings for families traveling and commuting as the New Year begins.
