Arkansas State Police are investigating a fatal head-on crash that occurred Tuesday evening on State Highway 367 in Diaz, leaving one woman dead and two others injured.
According to the ASP report, the crash happened at approximately 5:31 p.m. on December 31, 2025, when a 2012 Chevrolet traveling north crossed the center turn lane and entered the southbound lane, striking a 2007 Nissan head-on.
77-year-old Shirley Hudson of Cash, the driver of Vehicle 2, died from her injuries. The driver of the Chevrolet, 45-year-old Santos Reyes Gonzales of Newport, and passenger Isabela Reyes Gonzales, 47, also of Newport, were injured and transported to Unity Health and UAMS for treatment.
Conditions at the time of the crash were clear and dry. Next of kin have been notified. Hudson’s body was taken to Jacksons Funeral Home. The crash was investigated by Trooper Ethan Sanders (ASP 504).
