An Arkansas State Police traffic stop in the early morning hours of Wednesday, November 26, 2025, led to a major drug seizure in Pope County. Around 3:30 a.m., a trooper stopped a 2008 Toyota traveling eastbound on Interstate 40 near London for a traffic violation.

A search of the vehicle uncovered 17 trash bags, each filled with multiple vacuum-sealed packages containing illegal marijuana. Investigators say the total weight of the seized marijuana was approximately 448 pounds. Troopers also found a separate bag containing suspected cocaine.

The driver, 57-year-old Tuan Nmi Tran, was arrested and taken to the Pope County Detention Center. He was booked on felony charges of Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Tran told investigators he had been traveling from Oklahoma City to Jacksonville, Arkansas. The case remains under investigation by Arkansas State Police.
