Last Day to Give Monday December 15th: 86 Meal Boxes Still Need Sponsors for Cleburne County Seniors

, , Leave a comment

Monday, December 15, is the final day for community members to sponsor meal boxes for local seniors through the Cleburne County Aging Program’s Feed a Senior Sponsorship Opportunity, and 86 boxes are still in need of sponsors.

Each fall, the Cleburne County Aging Program (CCAP) purchases shelf-stable meals for Meals on Wheels recipients to ensure seniors have backup food during winter weather when regular meal delivery may be unsafe. Each sponsored box contains two shelf-stable meals, along with essential items such as noodles, potatoes, pickles, chips, and 100 percent juice.

The cost to sponsor one box is $8.12, making this opportunity accessible not only to businesses, but also to individuals and families who want to help feed a senior during the winter months. Sponsors may also include marketing materials for placement inside or outside the meal boxes delivered to seniors.

Originally, 135 boxes were needed, and organizers say community support has already made a difference—but time is running out to cover the remaining need.

Sponsorships and inquiries can be made at the Waychoff Senior Center, located at 320 Trailwood Drive in Heber Springs, or by calling 501-362-2413. Additional information is available by email at ksperatosccap@gmail.com
or online at facebook.com/CleburneCountyAgingProgram.

Organizers encourage the community to act today and help ensure no senior goes without a meal this winter.
