The $5 million bond for former Conway physician Dr. Guy Langley Peeples, charged with rape and sexual assault, will remain in place following a bond reduction hearing held Wednesday. Peeples, 65, of Vilonia, surrendered his medical license after his November 18 arrest and has remained in custody at the Faulkner County Detention Center.

Bond conditions require Peeples to wear an ankle monitor and surrender his passport.
Peeples is charged with felony rape and two counts of sexual assault stemming from a November 10 investigation into his alleged treatment of a 70-year-old patient the previous day. Authorities noted that a virtual attendant was present during the exam.
His defense team sought a lower bond during a December 8 filing, arguing that Peeples has long-standing community ties and voluntarily surrendered after learning of the warrant while at an inpatient facility in Mississippi.
Twentieth Judicial District Prosecutor Carol Crews said her office is preparing for trial.
“We are continuing to work closely with the Conway Police Department on this ongoing investigation and look forward to presenting this case to a Faulkner County jury and trust that justice will be served,” Crews said.
Peeples is scheduled to return to court on Jan. 5, 2026.
