Firefighters responded to a commercial structure fire at a well-known Heber Springs restaurant Tuesday night.
According to the Heber Springs Fire Department, crews were dispatched at approximately 9:11 p.m. on December 16, 2025, to a reported fire at The Smokehouse Restaurant. Engine 1, Engine 3, Ladder 1, C-201, and several off-duty firefighters responded to the scene. The Heber Springs Police Department and Survival Flight EMS units 106 and 257 also assisted.
Upon arrival, firefighters reported visible fire and smoke coming from the roof of the building. Crews made entry into the structure and located the fire in the kitchen area. Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the kitchen and a portion of the roof, preventing further spread.
Officials confirmed the restaurant was closed for the evening and no employees were inside at the time of the fire. No injuries were reported.
The Smokehouse is considered a longtime local staple in Heber Springs. The restaurant is expected to remain closed temporarily while damage is assessed and repairs are made. Fire officials have not yet released the cause of the fire, and the incident remains under investigation.

Firefighters Called To Local Business In Heber Springs
The local restaurant, called The Smokehouse, had multiple firetrucks and firefighters at the location with emergency responders even seen over the roof.
No details have been released regarding what led to the firefighters being called.
