A visit to Arkansas’ Crater of Diamonds State Park turned into an unforgettable experience for Nicole Cadez of Grand Junction, Colorado, who discovered a 1.15-carat white diamond while exploring the park’s famous diamond search area.

Cadez said the diamond was “shimmering in the sun” and was found in just 20 minutes, making the discovery even more remarkable. The Crater of Diamonds State Park, located near Murfreesboro, is the only public diamond site in the world where visitors can search for real diamonds and keep what they find.

Park officials say Cadez’s find highlights the unique appeal of the park, which continues to attract visitors from around the country hoping to uncover a once-in-a-lifetime treasure.
