Arkansas PBS is kicking off its holiday season by spotlighting “From the Archives: Ozark Mountain Christmas,” a treasured performance filmed at the Ozark Folk Center in Mountain View. Airing Thursday, Dec. 25, at 7 p.m., the restored 1991 program features regional artists performing classic Christmas music, celebrating the craftsmanship, spirit, and culture that define the Ozarks. The special offers viewers a nostalgic look at the Folk Center’s rich musical heritage and enduring holiday traditions.

Following this regional highlight, Arkansas PBS will present a full month of seasonal programming available at myarpbs.org/blog.
As part of the Arkansas Live initiative, the network will livestream the 2025 Arkansas State Capitol Lighting Ceremony on Saturday, Dec. 6, at 5:30 p.m. The celebration includes the Sounds of the Season children’s choir performances airing Dec. 8–19 at 9 a.m. daily. Now in its 87th year, the Capitol Lighting continues one of Arkansas’s most beloved Christmas traditions, led this year by Secretary of State Cole Jester.
On Thursday, Dec. 18, at 7 p.m., viewers can enjoy “A Garden Home Christmas,” hosted by P. Allen Smith and floral designer Holly Heider Chapple. Filmed at Moss Mountain Farm, the program shares festive inspiration for decorating, cooking, and entertaining. A companion blog, “Three Ways to Use a Wreath,” offers additional holiday tips.
