The Mountain View Black Friday Christmas Preview Open House—one of the community’s longest-running shopping traditions—wrapped up another successful year on November 28. This annual event, now more than 25 years strong, brought shoppers and families together to kick off the holiday season with special deals, festive activities, and support for local merchants.
This year’s $106.10 Cash Giveaway winner is Al Stankiewicz, of Mountain View, Arkansas. His name was drawn Monday after hundreds of shoppers registered at participating businesses across town.

Local merchants included Mountain View Chevy, The Dude Ranch, The Dulcimer Shop, Arkansas Craft Gallery, Box Drop, Farmer’s Daughter, Dearien’s Supply, Nina’s Back Door Deli, and Pizza Hut. Additional businesses added to the excitement, such as Urban Forge, Wallace Woodworks, Higher Ground Marketplace, Twisted Mule, Market on Main, Hipp’s Modern Builders, View Life 72560, and Nancy’s Antiques.
Community members also enjoyed live Black Friday coverage by Dale Gardner and Stone County Leader Publisher Rusty Fraser on ArkansasRadio.com radio station Timeless 106.1 KFFB.
Don’t miss Christmas on the Square Returns this weekend December 5–6
Mountain View is now gearing up for one of its most cherished holiday traditions as Christmas on the Square returns Friday and Saturday, December 5th and 6th. Downtown will come alive with lights, music, food, and family-friendly activities.
Free train rides for the kids are back this year, thanks to Collie Farms, and Santa and Mrs. Claus will greet families at the courthouse gazebo—transformed into Mountain View’s very own North Pole.
The Mountain View Meeting Place will debut a free Christmas Paint Party on Saturday, offering sessions for both children and adults. RE/MAX Edge is also launching Candy Cane Lane, featuring free kids crafts, games, bubbles, and an inflatable slide.
Organizers say this year’s celebration is shaping up to be one of the biggest yet. Families are encouraged to return Sunday morning for a Christmas on the Square Church Service, presented by Compass View Church at 10:30 a.m. on the courthouse stage.
Christmas on the Square runs December 5th and 6th in downtown Mountain View.
