The Stone County Sheriff’s Office arrested Kris Aaron Copeland, 47, of Mountain View, following a child sexual exploitation investigation.
In April 2025, the Sheriff’s Office received a tip about child sexual exploitation material being distributed from a device in Stone County. Lieutenant Jenifer Osborn led an investigation tracing the activity to a residence on Herpel Road, ultimately obtaining a search warrant.
On Monday, November 3, 2025, detectives executed the warrant, taking Copeland into custody. He faces two Class C felony charges for distributing, possessing, and viewing sexually explicit material involving a child.
Copeland’s bond is set at $25,000. The investigation is ongoing, and additional charges may be filed pending review by the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
