As food assistance organizations experience surging demand during the ongoing federal government shutdown, Stone Bank has donated $1,000 to the Stone County Community Food Ministry to support local families in need.

Food programs across Arkansas have reported an increase in requests for assistance as uncertainty grows around federal nutrition programs such as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), which provides benefits to more than 240,000 residents each month. Many food banks have begun distributing supplies originally intended for the holiday season to meet immediate needs.
“With so many families facing uncertainty about their next meal, we knew we had to take action,” said Nick Roach, President & CEO of Stone Bank. “Our customers and neighbors are the heart of our communities, and we want them to know that Stone Bank stands beside them, especially during challenging times like these. Supporting local food banks is one way we can help ensure that no Arkansan goes hungry while waiting for relief.”
The contribution is part of $10,000 in total donations Stone Bank has made to food banks serving the communities where it operates, including Little Rock, Harrison, White Hall, DeWitt, Gillett, and Mountain View.
“The Stone County Community Food Ministry is a vital resource for many families here in Mountain View,” said April Wilkins, Stone Bank Mountain View Branch Manager. “We’re proud to support their ongoing work to make sure no one in our community goes without food during difficult times.”
The Stone County Community Food Ministry, located at 310 School Ave. in Mountain View (inside the Dorcas Thrift Shop building), provides monthly food assistance to eligible clients. Food is distributed Wednesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM.
Stone Bank’s Mountain View branch is located at 802 E Main St., Mountain View, AR. For more information about Stone Bank and its community initiatives, visit www.StoneBank.com
