Searcy, Arkansas is preparing to flip the switch on the holiday season as the community comes together for the annual Holiday of Lights Lighting Ceremony at Berryhill Park on Tuesday night, November 18, 2025. The beloved tradition marks the official kickoff of Searcy’s Holiday of Lights, one of the region’s most anticipated seasonal celebrations.

Families attending this year’s ceremony can enjoy free refreshments, photos with Santa, a special appearance by a real live reindeer, and even a visit from the Grinch, creating a magical atmosphere for children and adults alike. Organizers say the event grows each year, drawing thousands who come to celebrate the joy and spirit of the holiday season.

Berryhill Park will once again transform into a glowing winter wonderland, featuring thousands of sparkling Christmas lights and brand-new displays honoring Searcy’s first responders—the Searcy Fire Department, Searcy Police Department, and NorthStar EMS.

“This event grows more magical each year, and we’re thrilled to offer these special additions for our community,” said Tonia Hale, Co-Chair of the Holiday of Lights Committee. “Last year was the first year we had the reindeer, and it was amazing to see the joy on the children’s faces when they met him.”
“Our first responders play such a big role in our community that we wanted to see them represented in the Christmas lights,” added Co-Chair Tommy Centola. “They’re always there in emergencies, but they also invest so much time in community events and finding ways to serve.”
The Lighting Ceremony begins at 5:30 p.m., with hot chocolate, coffee, punch, and cookies available for attendees. The event officially launches a season filled with holiday activities, festive displays, and family-friendly events throughout Searcy. In 2024, Southern Living Magazine named Searcy the Cutest Christmas Town in the South, a recognition that continues to attract families from across Arkansas and beyond.
