Arkansas State University-Beebe is inviting the community to celebrate the season at its annual Community Tree Lighting Ceremony on Tuesday, Dec. 2, at The Grove on the Beebe campus, 1000 Iowa Street. The event is free and open to the public.

Festivities begin at 2 p.m. with a pottery sale featuring handmade gingerbread houses and ornaments created during fall Makers Day events. All proceeds benefit the Student Emergency Hope Fund, giving attendees a chance to shop for unique gifts while supporting students in need.
“The ASU-Beebe Community Tree Lighting has become a cherished tradition,” said Andrea Cole, associate vice chancellor of Institutional Advancement. “It’s a time for us to come together as a community, enjoy the holiday magic, and create memories we can carry forward year after year.”
Beginning at 4 p.m., visitors can enjoy hot cocoa, cider, cookies, photos with Santa, and hands-on holiday craft tables for families. The John Deere Agriculture Technology students will also offer hayrides around campus.
The celebration continues with festive performances:
Symphonic Band and Chamber Singers at 4 p.m.
Studio 360 dancers at 5:15 p.m.
At 5:30 p.m., the highlight of the evening arrives as the towering Leyland Cypress Christmas tree is illuminated with blue and white lights. Dr. Jennifer Methvin, ASU-Beebe chancellor, will share a holiday story before the honorary 2025 tree lighters flip the switch to officially welcome the season.
Presented by Eoff & Associates Realty, Inc., the Community Tree Lighting offers families, friends, and neighbors a festive way to celebrate together. If inclement weather occurs, events will move to the Centennial Bank Gymnasium in the Owen Center.
