A Horseshoe Bend couple has been arrested following an investigation that uncovered drugs, firearms, and unsafe conditions involving two minor children.

Chad Griffith, 41, and Danielle Griffith, 36, were each charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a minor in the first degree, a Class D felony.
The arrests stemmed from a September 30, 2025 incident in Melbourne, where deputies found the Griffiths and two children camping overnight in a tent on top of their vehicle at a local business.
Investigators discovered methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and multiple firearms inside the vehicle. Chad Griffith, identified as an unregistered sex offender who recently moved to Horseshoe Bend, was arrested for failure to register, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a firearm by a felon. Danielle Griffith was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, and the Arkansas Department of Human Services (DHS) was notified.
On October 30, 2025, the Izard County Sheriff’s Office received confirmation that one of the minor children tested positive for methamphetamine, resulting in additional child endangerment charges for both parents.
The case remains under investigation by the Izard County Sheriff’s Office.
