Mayor Ken Kincade is pleased to announce a significant step forward in improving local traffic flow and infrastructure, following recent correspondence from the Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT). This marks a major milestone in advancing long-term transportation planning and investment for the Cabot community.

The initial focus of the project will be Exit 16 and Exit 19, two critical points for traffic efficiency and safety. After months of collaboration with ARDOT and state legislators, Mayor Ken Kincade confirmed that Exit 16 has officially been advertised for construction — a major advancement in moving this project from planning to implementation.
According to ARDOT, the advertisement period will run for 12 weeks, with construction bids opening on January 21, 2026. Construction is expected to begin in early 2026, bringing long-awaited improvements to the area.
Though the attached drawing is not a final rendering, it highlights ARDOT’s plan to construct a Single-Point Urban Interchange (SPUI) at Exit 16. This modern design is intended to reduce traffic lights, add through lanes, and streamline turning movements, resulting in safer and more efficient traffic flow for all drivers.
“This is a major step forward for the City of Cabot’s infrastructure and traffic management,” said Mayor Ken Kincade. “We are grateful for ARDOT’s partnership and the continued patience and support of our residents. Projects of this scale take time, but the benefits will serve Cabot for generations to come.”
The City of Cabot also anticipates providing additional updates on Exit 19 in the near future as coordination with ARDOT continues.
Residents are encouraged to stay informed through the City of Cabot’s official website and social media channels for the latest updates on construction progress and infrastructure improvements.
