The Cabot community is mourning the loss of Candice Douglas, the cherished coordinator of the Cabot Piranhas swim program, who passed away following a courageous battle with cancer. Douglas was known for her unwavering dedication to young swimmers, parents, and families across multiple communities, pouring her heart into building confidence, resilience, and joy both in and out of the water.

For many, she was more than a coach—she was a mentor, friend, and family. Her impact on the Piranhas program and the lives she touched will be remembered for years to come.
Visitation for Douglas will be held Monday, Dec. 1, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Smith Family Funeral Home, located at 7700 Hwy 107 in Sherwood. A funeral service will follow from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Her full obituary is available online.
