With the federal government shutdown, possibly opening on Wednesday we still are seeing impacting paychecks and benefits, food pantries across Arkansas are stepping up to help. Below is a complete list of food banks, soup kitchens, and pantries available in our 21-county listening area.
Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders announced $500,000 in emergency funding for six food bank networks across the state, with more support possible if the shutdown continues. Sanders also launched HelpArkansas.com, connecting residents to food assistance, volunteer, and donation resources.
