The University of Arkansas Community College at Batesville (UACCB) has been named one of 200 U.S. community colleges eligible to compete for the prestigious 2027 Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence, the nation’s top recognition for high achievement among two-year colleges. Selection was based on student outcomes, including retention, completion, transfer, and bachelor’s attainment rates.

“This recognition honors the dedication and achievements of our students, faculty, and staff,” said Dr. Brian Shonk, Chancellor of UACCB. “Earning a spot among the top 200 institutions affirms the significant impact we make in our community and on our students’ lives.”

The Aspen Prize, awarded every two years since 2010, celebrates community colleges that achieve exceptional student outcomes. Eligible colleges are invited to submit applications and undergo a rigorous review process, including assessment of completion, transfer, employment, and wage outcomes. Finalists and the prize winner will be announced between April 2026 and Spring 2027.

UACCB offers affordable technical education and college transfer programs, contributing to workforce development and economic growth in north central Arkansas.
