First Community Bank recently hosted Lead. With. Purpose., a leadership development event held on Friday, October 3, at the University of Arkansas Community College at Batesville (UACCB) in Independence Hall. Presented by First Community Bank, the event was created to inspire and equip leaders to grow with intention—both professionally and personally—demonstrating the bank’s continued commitment to investing in the communities it serves.
The event drew a diverse audience of community leaders, business owners, and decision-makers from across Arkansas, with attendees traveling from Batesville and surrounding regions statewide.
Keynote Speakers Inspire Growth and Purpose
The morning keynote was delivered by Mark Miller, bestselling author and retired vice president of high-performance leadership at Chick-fil-A®. His presentation, based on his book Smart Leadership, encouraged attendees to make intentional “SMART” choices to elevate their influence, energy, and impact as leaders.

Following Miller’s session, guests enjoyed a catered lunch from Colton’s Steak House & Grill™, provided courtesy of First Community Bank. The meal offered a valuable opportunity for networking and fellowship among community professionals.
In the afternoon, Randy Gravitt, CEO of Lead Every Day, author, speaker, and executive coach, took the stage for the closing keynote. Drawing from his book Winning Begins at Home, Gravitt challenged leaders to cultivate success both at work and within their families and personal lives.

Investing in Leaders and Communities
Attendees received complimentary copies of Lead Every Day—co-authored by Miller and Gravitt—and Gravitt’s Winning Begins at Home, gifted by First Community Bank to support continued leadership growth.
Danita High, senior vice president of culture and employee development at First Community Bank, shared that the event reflected one of the bank’s ongoing strategic priorities: developing leaders at every level.
“This event was a wonderful opportunity to pour into our employees, customers, and community members who lead with heart and purpose,” said High. “At First Community Bank, we believe that strong communities are built by strong leaders, and it was inspiring to see so many people come together, eager to learn and grow.”
The Lead. With. Purpose. event aligns with First Community Bank’s 2025 strategic goal to develop and grow leaders, underscoring the bank’s investment in people, leadership, and progress throughout its footprint.
