The FBI office in Little Rock is warning Arkansas families about a disturbing online trend where violent groups are targeting minors and other at-risk individuals across the state and nationwide.
What Are “Gore Groups” or 764 Groups?
According to the FBI, these networks—often called “764 groups” or “Gore groups”—connect with young people through commonly used platforms such as social media, gaming apps, and messaging services.
Once contact is made, predators manipulate or coerce children into:
Producing and sharing child sexual abuse material
Creating extreme gore content
Engaging in animal cruelty, self-harm, or acts of violence
The FBI reports more than 300 cases nationwide, including several here in Arkansas.
How Predators Target Children
Officials say predators often start by building trust with minors, then pressure them to share personal details, images, or videos. In some cases, children are coerced into committing violent acts or encouraged to victimize others.
FBI Calls for Public Awareness
The FBI emphasizes that combating cyber-related crimes against children is a top priority. Agents are working around the clock to protect Arkansas youth, but they say parents, teachers, and guardians must play a key role.
The bureau advises:
Monitor online activity and know who your child is talking to
Use parental controls on apps and devices
Warn kids about sharing photos, videos, or personal information online
Report suspicious behavior immediately
How to Report Suspicious Activity
Anyone who suspects online exploitation or encounters suspicious activity should contact law enforcement right away. Reports can be made directly to the FBI by calling 1-800-CALL-FBI or submitting tips online at tips.fbi.gov.
