After years of planning, collaboration, and community input, the City of Searcy is excited to announce the official groundbreaking of the #MySearcy Projects—a transformative milestone in the city’s future. The community is invited to join the celebration on Thursday, August 21 at 5:30 p.m. at the Searcy Swim Center.
Funded through the voter-approved 20-year capital improvement plan, these projects represent a historic $93 million investment in Searcy’s quality of life. The groundbreaking will launch the first phase of several major initiatives, including:
Community Center
A modern, multi-purpose facility that will serve as a hub for wellness, recreation, and community gatherings. Amenities will include sports courts, an indoor walking trail and climbing wall, fitness areas, multi-use rooms, a community café, an outdoor amphitheater, and walking trails.
Outdoor Water Park
A new family-friendly attraction featuring a zero-entry pool, water slides, lazy river, and a shallow-entry play pool—designed to be a summer destination for residents of all ages.
Five new ball fields will accommodate youth and adult leagues and support regional tournaments. The existing soccer complex will receive major drainage improvements to ensure better playability and safety.
“This is a historic day for Searcy,” said Mayor Mat Faulkner. “These aren’t just facilities—they’re lasting investments in our people, families, and future. We’re grateful to our citizens for making this vision a reality.”
The event will include a ceremonial groundbreaking, followed by a free community celebration with hot dogs, bounce houses, ice cream, and family-friendly activities.
“These projects reflect what our residents asked for,” said Planning & Development Director Richard Stafford. “They’re the result of years of thoughtful planning and will benefit Searcy for generations.”

In addition to these major developments, the #MySearcy initiative includes upgrades to Berryhill Park and Riverside Park, expanded pedestrian and bike trails, and recent renovations to the Sports Complex, completed in Spring 2025.
