Two suspects are in custody following a violent early morning incident that began with a routine traffic stop and led to a stolen police vehicle, a pursuit, and a coordinated multi-agency manhunt across Faulkner and White counties.
At approximately 5:00 a.m., a Vilonia Police officer initiated a traffic stop on Highway 64 for a vehicle speeding. The driver, a 15-year-old juvenile, initially stopped and provided a false name. After the officer requested both occupants to exit the vehicle—identified as the juvenile and passenger Jabariyon Crenshaw—the vehicle fled the scene, traveling toward White County.
The car broke down shortly afterward on Highway 64 near Gilliham Road in Beebe. Authorities later confirmed the vehicle had been reported stolen from the City of Beebe.
When the vehicle became disabled, both suspects fled on foot. The officer caught up with them and attempted to detain them on the roadway, where a physical altercation occurred, leaving the officer on the ground. The suspects then stole the officer’s patrol unit and fled toward Beebe. White County deputies and Beebe Police engaged in a pursuit that ended when the suspects crashed the police vehicle into a ditch near Dewitt Henry Drive and Carson Street.
Both suspects again fled on foot. Arkansas Department of Corrections K9 teams and Arkansas State Police quickly responded to assist with the search. Investigators were able to track the suspects to a residence on Road Island Street in Beebe. State Police SWAT and the White County Sheriff’s Special Response Team surrounded the home and successfully called the suspects out using a loudspeaker. Both were taken into custody without further incident.
