She did it!
Marlee Price, a young college student and intern working with the local radio station in Searcy, Arkansas COOL 104.7 revealed that she landed a major scholarship. The news comes after she’s spent time helping the radio station operations!
Marlee is also a Honors Political Science/Communication Student at University of Arkansas.
Young College Student Intern Lands Major Scholarship
On social media, Marlee announced:
“I am proud to announce that I have been selected among a national pool of applicants to receive the Washington Media Fellows Scholarship from the Washington Media Scholars Foundation! I am grateful for the support I received throughout the application process, and I am excited for what is to come.”
According to Washington Media Scholars Foundation:
“These talented students have been chosen from a pool of highly accomplished candidates who have demonstrated remarkable dedication, academic excellence, and a passion for media-related fields. The Fall 2025 Media Fellows Scholars will receive financial assistance and invaluable opportunities to gain hands-on experience, mentorship, and access to industry professionals.”
It happened during her time working as an intern at COOL 104.7 in Searcy, Arkansas:
“This summer, I am grateful to have had the opportunity to intern with ArkansasRadio.com at Cool 104.7 through the Arkansas Broadcasters Association. As an intern, I participated in writing ads, recording commercials, and remotely broadcasting from events within the community. This experience allowed me to learn valuable skills from the talented staff there that will aid me in my future endeavors.”
