Selina Wallis, Executive Director of the Independence County Senior Citizens Center, celebrated a successful grand opening of the long-anticipated new facility last Friday. Wallis described the event as having an “unbelievable turnout,” and shared she was “thrilled with the turnout.”
The grand opening featured live broadcasts from ArkansasRadio.com stations, bringing extra excitement as the community toured the center and enjoyed the festivities.
“What a fantastic day! There are so many to thank,” Wallis said. “First Community Bank, Arkansas Radio, Arkansas SHIIP, White River Planning and Development District, White River Area Agency on Aging, Batesville School District, Independence County, and so many others helped us get to this day! Our grand opening was a huge success, and we look forward to enjoying this building for many years. Our senior citizens are fortunate to have this great facility—we love our great community!”
The new Independence County Senior Citizens Center is now open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at 920 Elm Street in Batesville.
