The City of Searcy will host a public meeting on Tuesday, July 15, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at City Hall to inform residents about upcoming changes to the city’s floodplain maps. This come-and-go style meeting is open to all and will give property owners the chance to view proposed updates to the Special Flood Hazard Areas (SFHA) and understand how these changes could affect their properties. City officials, along with representatives from Halff Associates—the national engineering firm that conducted the study and produced the updated maps—will be present to provide information and answer questions. Residents are encouraged to attend, especially those with properties near existing or proposed flood zones, to gain clarity and plan for any potential impacts.
