According to case files, Hickman faces serious charges stemming from an incident on November 14, 2024, including simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms. This Class Y felony involves marijuana and a stolen SCCY 9mm pistol found in a vehicle he fled in.
On November 14, 2024, Bald Knob Police Department officers reportedly responded to a call at Littlefield Express truck-stop in Bald Knob, Arkansas. A female reported being threatened with a gun, leading police to reportedly identify Damen Dempsey Hickman as the suspect.
Officers reportedly confirmed Hickman’s identity and discovered he was a parolee with active warrants from multiple cities. When they attempted contact, Hickman reportedly ignored commands and fled in a stolen 2022 Honda Accord.
Hickman’s alleged escape involved high-speed flight north on Highway 167, reaching speeds of 130 miles per hour. He caused significant damage, including destroying a fuel nozzle at the truck-stop and crashing through private property.
During his flight, Hickman reportedly damaged a yard at 816 Hwy 167, destroying decorations worth $1,500, and drove through multiple fences, totaling $1,500 in additional damages. He reportedly crashed into a ditch on Russell Mt. Road, abandoned the vehicle, and fled on foot, leaving marijuana behind.
Hickman faces two counts of first-degree criminal mischief for damages between $1,000 and $25,000. This includes destruction of a 2022 Honda Accord and fencing, totaling over $6,000 in damages.
Further charges include possession of marijuana with intent to deliver and possession of a defaced firearm, both Class D felonies. Hickman also faces charges for failure to appear and absconding.
His bond is set at $150,000 for most charges, with smaller amounts of $350 and $850 for failure to appear. Hickman has a history of violent convictions, marking him as a habitual offender.
Court dates are scheduled for early July 2025 in White County Circuit Court and district courts in Searcy and Judsonia. The case continues to unfold as Hickman awaits trial.
