Based on a supposed tip, authorities allegedly used a confidential informant to purchase fentanyl pills from Burge on three separate occasions. Special Drug Task Force buy funds reportedly facilitated these controlled purchases.

Court affidavits supposedly indicate Burge faces additional scrutiny, with two other drug-related cases allegedly pending in Sharp County. His purported status as a habitual offender, with four or more prior felony convictions, reportedly complicates his legal situation.

Burge is allegedly charged as a habitual offender due to his supposed extensive felony record. This history purportedly increases the severity of his current charges.

He is reportedly detained in the Independence County jail, held under a $200,000 bond.
