A disturbing incident happened on Wednesday at around 4pm central time on Quitman Road in Quitman, Arkansas.
Greers Ferry and Quitman Fire Departments were quickly on the scene controlling the situation as an out-of-control brush fire spread through the woods near Quitman. You can watch footage from the incident below.
Fire In Woods Near Quitman Causes Concern During High Speed Winds
On man on location stated that he woke up thinking his house was on fire when he went outside only to see smoke coming through the woods.
Firefighters were quickly able to take control of the scene.

The cause of the fire remains unknown. It’s still under investigation.
It’s speculated that a lit cigarette may have led to the fire from a passing driver.
Multiple counties have actually issued burn bans due to the severe nature of the wind speeds. Burning is not advised.
