A woman was recently booked into jail after alleged possession of an illegal device by Arkansas State Police. The woman, 22, was booked into jail on February 2nd, 2025. You can view her mugshot below provided by Faulkner County Sheriff’s Office.
Woman Charged With “Possession of Illegal Device”
According to case files, Nayiri Gomez-Loogas, a 22 year old from Texas, was given an electronic citation In rural Faulkner County, Arkansas by Arkansas State Police.
She was accused of:
“POSS OF THEFT DETECTION DEVICE REMOVER…”
The discovery may have resulted in a traffic stop.
What Is A Theft Device Remover?
In case you didn’t know, in Arkansas, having a theft detection device remover is a crime that occurs when someone knowingly has a tool designed to remove a theft detection device from merchandise.
It’s illegal.
According to Arkansas law, a person commits the offense of unlawful possession of a theft detection device remover if they knowingly a tool or device designed to remove a theft detection device from merchandise.
Or if the tool or device is used without the permission of the merchant or person owning or holding the merchandise.
