Van Buren County Arrests Suspect In Break-In Case
According to case documents, Van Buren County authorities have identified James Curtis as the suspect in a recent break-in at 24hr Fuel in Bee Branch. The identification came after video footage showed a man matching Curtis’s description committing the crime.
The video captured a black Ford Edge with a distinctive silver Ford emblem, which matched Curtis’s vehicle. Curtis was also seen wearing clothing consistent with the suspect in the video, including gray tennis shoes and green and gray gloves.
On November 26, 2024, Curtis allegedly used a 4-way tire tool to break into a vehicle at the fuel station, stealing items from inside. He was observed refueling his car at the station before the theft, which gave investigators a clear timeline of events.
Investigators traced the vehicle to Justin’s Towing where Curtis’s wrecked Ford Edge was located. Special Agent Kevin Brown and Investigator Logan Denney confirmed the vehicle’s details matched those from the surveillance video.
Curtis was interviewed at his workplace, where he denied any involvement in the crime despite being shown the incriminating video evidence. He claimed to have been with family on the night in question.
He was later arrested on January 6th in the morning by Van Buren County authorities.
