A deadly accident involving a dump truck and a utility poll.

Pine Bluff Police Department confirm a tragic accident occurred on January 22, 2025, when a white dump truck and a bluish-green Chevrolet Silverado collided at West 3rd Avenue and Walnut Street around 2:35 P.M. You can view a photograph of the horrific crash scene below.

Deadly Utility Pole Accident Photo Released

The Silverado, driven by 61-year-old William Lawrence, struck a utility pole after the impact, leading to Lawrence’s death at the scene.

Raymond Cashel, 63, the driver of the dump truck, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Jefferson Regional Medical Center.

Emergency services had to extricate Lawrence from his vehicle before he was pronounced dead by Jefferson County Deputy Coroner Doug McCurry.
