It’s a heartbreaking story that is sadly common.
A woman named Kerrie Turner has taken to social media after her daughter witnessed a tragic accident involving a dog in Elm Springs, Arkansas. While driving through the area, she saw a vehicle strike a black and brown brindle dog, that looked like “Snoopy” from the Peanuts comic, and then speed away without stopping. The dog died in the daughter’s arms.
Daughter Leaves Note With Dog After Alleged Hit-And-Run In Elm Springs, Arkansas
Turner says her daughter saw a car run over the dog then speed away:
“The car kept going, which just makes my blood boil.”
The dog, in distress, was approached by Turner’s daughter, who attempted to comfort the animal. Sadly, the dog succumbed to its injuries in her arms, a moment that has left the family deeply shaken.
Determined to provide some closure, Turner’s daughter moved the dog’s body away from the road. She left a note attached to the dog’s collar, explaining the circumstances of the accident, in hopes that the owner would find their pet.
Kerrie Turner, unable to find a local community page for Elm Springs, took to social media to spread the word.
She is appealing to anyone who might know the dog’s owner to inform them of the incident, hoping to bring some peace to the situation.
Thousands Of Animal Deaths Go Unreported Each Year
It’s a real problem.
Even in accidents involving someone’s pet, thousands of these vehicle accidents go unreported each year.
It’s a problem with no real solution.
Please spread the word. If you see an animal die, let the owners know.
