A suspect from Arkansas has been arrested in connection to a terrible murder of a dog in 2022. After using digital forensic evidence, Colorado authorities say they tracked the crime to a man named David Thompson from Scotland, Arkansas. You can view his mugshot below.
Arkansas Suspect Arrested For Animal Murder In Another State
The incident dates back to August 29, 2022, when David Thompson, from Scotland, Arkansas, allegedly attacked two dogs in a Wellington yard, leading to the death of one and severe injuries to the other.
The Larimer County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) identified Thompson through a community tip after he had no known connection to the victims or the location. The investigation was thorough, involving forensic and digital evidence analysis, culminating in Thompson’s arrest in late November 2024. He now faces two counts of Aggravated Animal Cruelty, with a bond set at $15,000 by the Larimer County Court.
Captain Bobby Moll of LCSO’s Investigations division expressed hope that this arrest might bring some solace to those affected, acknowledging the irreversible loss yet emphasizing the commitment to justice.
The LCSO extended gratitude to the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office and North Little Rock Police Department for their collaboration in this case.
Thompson’s booking photo has been released, but it is important to note that all charges are accusations, and he is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
